ULTIMATE RACERS – MOTOGP990 CHAMPIONS AND CHALLENGERS The Motorcycle Files series kicks off with a DVD programme on what many people still consider to be the ultimate racing motorcycles - the mighty 990cc machines that contested the initial seasons of the MotoGP series before the maximum capacity for the class was reduced to 800cc in 2007. Spectators, journalists, TV viewers and even the riders – including serial World Champion Valentino Rossi - complained that the capacity reduction was a big mistake. Check out the original big bikes that had so strong an appeal that it led to a U-turn by the series organisers and a return to the 1000cc capacity limit for 2012. And even the new big bikes don’t have the raw appeal of those originals as sophisticated electronics have tamed the beasts and made them easier to ride. Those awesome machines from the 990 era are still regarded by many as the ultimate racers. |
 ACTION AND ANALYSIS FROM PRIVATE TRACK TESTS This programme includes test action from three years of track sessions with all major manufacturer teams involved in the premier class of World Championship competition.
