IN THE PIPELINE
Alan Cathcart has being doing his stuff on road, track and typewriter, several of the world’s best motorcycle photographers have been clicking their camera shutters and video directors and cameramen on both sides of the Atlantic have been filming for more than five years - all working to establish the wide-ranging features and footage libraries necessary to establish
The Motorcycle Files.
And their work will continue into the future. The Motorcycle Files brand will be continually expanded as we release more titles focussing upon individual manufacturers as well as iconic
individual models and groups of machines.

NEW MODEL LAUNCHES, FACTORY VISITS, TRACK TESTS
During the years that we have been amassing footage for The Motorcycle Files library, we have been made welcome by many manufacturers at their factories, at new road model launches and at track tests of their racing machines.
It’s a courtesy that has been much appreciated so our thanks for their highly valued assistance go to Benelli, Bimota, BMW, Buell, Confederate, CRS, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Moto Morini, MV Agusta, S&S, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory and Yamaha.
Thanks also to the staff and management of Britain’s National Motorcycle Museum.
All of them – and you, our customers - will see the results in upcoming programmes as
The Motorcycle Files catalogue continues to grow.
And, of course, we look forward to continuing our relationship with them into the future.

MARQUE BY MARQUE
A particular strength of The Motorcycle Files series will be its ability to focus on individual marques, whether by telling their whole history or focussing on groups of models within that story.

MODEL BY MODEL
Within every manufacturers range there are naturally certain individual models or types of machine that are worthy of a closer look.
Superbikes, for example, are obvious subjects and we are already laying the groundwork for individual editions of The Motorcycle Files covering the evolution of each manufacturer’s offering in this category.

STAY WITH US!
So that’s just some of the stuff we have already planned for this year and the years that follow. We’ve been working ‘behind the scenes’ on this project for five years and have already amassed a wide-ranging and substantial library of video and film footage, photography and magazine features. They will all be used in the unique publishing concept that is
The Motorcycle Files.
We know, of course, that not every programme in The Motorcycle Files will appeal to every motorcycle enthusiast. The very diversity of our sport, in fact, is one of its major strengths. What we will guarantee is that at some time, at some point in our catalogue, there will be programmes that you will want.

TYPECASTING!
Not every motorcyclist likes the same kind of machine, so our sport is a wide-ranging and varied one. That’s why some of our future releases will focus on distinctive types of machine rather than specific marques. For example:

Power Cruisers
They are the two-wheeled equivalent of the legendary American muscle cars but it’s not just the Americans who are building them. We aim to document the worldwide phenomenon of the ‘power cruiser’ with bikes from Britain, Japan and all around the USA.

Modern Classics
The heritage of motorcycling is important to us all and several manufacturers in recent years have included ‘retro-styled’ machines in their current model ranges. We’ll be looking ‘back to the future’ with ‘modern classics’ from Italy, Britain, America and Japan.

Italian Sports Bikes
There is something about the design and styling of Italian motorcycles that sets them apart from the rest. It’s indefinable but also unmistakable. We will be checking out the best of the ‘Italian stallions’ from manufacturers large and small.

Classic Grand Prix Two-Strokes
The Grand Prix ‘screamers’ of the nineteen-seventies and ‘eighties were some of the most fearsome racing machines of all time. Engine development had outstripped chassis technology and the resulting machines took a special breed of supermen to race them. We have arranged with private collectors for Alan Cathcart to track test the best of them from Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki and will mix our experiences with factory archive footage from the day.

Customs and Hot Bikes
Out there on the fringes they may be but there are plenty of ‘bikers’ who love – and ride – these outlandish creations. These days they tend to fall into two categories – the custom bikes that are monuments to style on wheels and ‘hot rod’ street racers with big-bore high performance engines using technology from the 200mph world of motorcycle drag racing. Expect to see them both featured in The Motorcycle Files.

CLASSIC YAMAHA RACERS EXCLUSIVE
Filming will continue throughout the summer of 2009 on an exclusive programme featuring the activities of the official Yamaha Classic Racing Team and its incredible array of the factory’s Grand Prix bikes from the nineteen-sixties and ‘seventies
.

The Motorcycle Files has an exclusive arrangement with the team to follow its activities in race-day action, to visit its workshops for up-close technical filming under studio lighting conditions and for Alan Cathcart to test its machines on track. These include factory team racers and prototypes ranging from 50 to 500cc as well as factory-approved replicas of the fabulous V4 two-fifties from the mid-nineteen sixties.

Our Classic Yamaha Racers programme will also include factory footage of these machines and their riders in their prime as well as Alan Cathcart’s magazine-style track tests and fabulous photo galleries.
